The Carolina Tobs knocked off the New York Cyclones, 5-3, in Import League action at Tobs Stadium. Carolina pitcher and Stockton, California, native Ed Stalker had an outstanding performance. The winning pitcher was Stalker, now 9-5. He tossed 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 7. Logan Bunnell was called on to finish, recording his 34th save.
In the bottom of the fourth inning of a 1-1 tie, Carolina center fielder Archibald Rowe reached on an error by the P, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put Carolina on top, 2-1.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Stalker.
The Tobs sit in second place in the Import League Stout Division with a record of 78-70.
