Carolina starter Miles Licon pitched well against the Philadelphia Freedom at Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower Field. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. The winning pitcher was Licon, now 10-10. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 9. Getting the save was Antonio Sutton, his 10th.
Sean Benjamin, the 22-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Benjamin contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Carolina up, 3-1.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Licon.
Carolina currently is in 4th place in the Import League Stout Division at 75-71.
