The Batavia Muckdogs besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Los Angeles shortstop Keith Cox by beating the Sharks, 8-6, at Shark Park. Cox was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Lucas Lawrence picked up the win with 6.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 4-0. The save was credited to Gerald Tura, his 36th.

Batavia got a big at-bat from Las Matas de Farfan, Dominican Republic native Nyles Quinones, who in the top of the third hit a grand slam home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Muckdogs ahead, 8-0.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Batavia manager Jayden Davis.

The third-place Muckdogs have won 4 straight games.
