Carolina pitcher D.W. Mulholland had a large part in his team beating the Denver Bulls, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Carolina is now 76-68. Denver is 53-91.

Austin Hughes came through with a big-time hit for Carolina. The first baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"D.W. gave us a heck of an effort," said Carolina manager Manny Padilla.
