Phoenix Sunk by Seattle, 3-1
|
The Seattle Pilots got a stellar effort from pitcher Colin Holden, helping Seattle score a win over the visiting Phoenix Roadrunners, 3-1. Brady D'Ambra, credited with the save, is now 21 for 23 in save opportunities. The first-place Pilots, at 89-52, lead the Import League Bock Division by 12½ games.
The Pilots got a big at-bat from center fielder Derick Cross. For the game, Cross went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 25th double of the season gave Seattle a 3-1 lead.
"Watch and learn," said Cross. "This is what good pitching looks like."
