Voodoo Rocked By Clowns, 12-1
|
The Indianapolis Clowns cruised to a win over the New Orleans Voodoo, 12-1, at The Big Top. C.J. Spicer led the way, going 3-for-5 for Indianapolis. The winning pitcher was Charles Hofer. He's now 2-4. He went 5.2 innings, allowing no runs on 5 hits for the Clowns. Indianapolis is now 18-27, while New Orleans is 23-22.
With Indianapolis leading 3-0 in the bottom of the seventh, Spicer hit a changeup from Dave Childers for a bases-clearing double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Clowns ahead, 6-0.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said New Orleans manager Dave Taylor. "We got flat-out beat."
