Tobs Win, 4-1
|
Carolina starter Chase Vaughan put a stranglehold on the New York offense. The left-hander had complete command of his cutter in leading the Tobs to a 4-1 win. Carolina is now 72-67, while New York is 75-66.
Carolina used a well-timed hit by Marcus Fahr to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Tobs ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I liked his command," said Carolina manager Dave Kell. "Chase was throwing strikes."
