Clowns Stick Snappers with 3-1 Loss
|
In a tight affair between the Indianapolis Clowns and the Syracuse Snappers, pitcher Rudy Vanderpool was in the zone. The Indianapolis right-hander helped his team win the game, 3-1. The winning pitcher was Vanderpool, now 7-7. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 8. The last-place Snappers have lost 4 consecutive games.
The Clowns got a big at-bat from right fielder Tom Holderness. For the game, Holderness went 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 17th home run of the season gave Indianapolis a 2-1 lead.
