Millers Drop 2-1 Decision
|
Starting pitcher Miles Licon gave the New Orleans Voodoo a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Pittsburgh Millers, 2-1, at Henry Byrd Field. Licon, the winner, moves to 6-1. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. Blake Galik picked up his 10th save of the season.
Second Baseman Lon Leseberg made an impact for New Orleans, when he swatted a run-scoring triple off Joel Greer in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Leseberg went 1 for 3 with a triple.
"I thought Miles threw the ball well across the board," said New Orleans manager Dave Puckett.
New Orleans raised its record to 25-20 with the win.
