Voodoo Roll Over Patriots, 9-4
|
New Orleans picked up a win at Henry Byrd Field, toppling the Pawtucket Patriots, 9-4. Pitcher Payton Durst was one of the reasons the Voodoo triumphed. Durst, now 5-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. New Orleans is now 27-19, 3½ games up in the Domestic League Lager Division.
Tuck Vrsek helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-1, Voodoo.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said New Orleans skipper Dusty Guercio.
