Millers Take Down Cyclones, 5-3
|
The Pittsburgh Millers beat the New York Cyclones, 5-3. Pittsburgh pitcher and Wilmington, Delaware, native Bert Franklin led the way. Garry Fanalua earned save number 16 this season. Pittsburgh's record now stands at 76-61, placing them first in the Domestic League Ale Division.
Benjamin Guy had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fourth for Pittsburgh. With the bases loaded and the Millers leading 1-0, he hit a sacrifice fly.
"Bert was throwing strikes, locating well," said Pittsburgh manager Jimmy West.
