In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Windy City starter Riley Saakyan kept the Syracuse hitters in check, while his team cruised to a win, 9-2. Saakyan, now 6-8, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing no runs.
The Blues got a big at-bat from catcher Steven Hall. For the game, Hall went 1 for 2 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 9th double of the season gave Windy City a 2-0 lead.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Hall told the Windy City Daily News.
With the win, Windy City has a record of 64-71. Syracuse falls to 66-69.
