Bats Reel-In 8-3 Win Over Roadrunners
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Washington Bats and Phoenix Roadrunners.
The Washington Bats downed the Phoenix Roadrunners, 8-3, at The Birdnest. Alec Echard led the way, going 2-for-4 for Washington. Maverick Rioux, now 2-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 1.2 innings. Max Biggers closed the door for Washington, picking up his 1st save of the year.
With Washington leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Echard hit a cutter from Erick Greenway for a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Bats ahead, 3-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Echard said.
After today's action, Washington sits at 19-27, while Phoenix falls to 11-33.
