Kodiaks Deal Tobs 8-2 Loss
At Tobs Stadium, the Carolina Tobs and California Kodiaks were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Kodiaks center fielder Brian Van Hook left his imprint on his team's 8-2 win over the Carolina Tobs. Van Hook was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs for California in the contest. The winner in relief was Camron Borowski. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0.

Saint Petersburg, Florida-born Nickolas Keyes came through in the clutch. In the top of the seventh, with the bases loaded and the Kodiaks trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single to center to put California on top.

"What a dismal performance," lamented losing manager Manny Padilla.

Carolina drops to 3-2.
