The Carolina Tobs and California Kodiaks played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.

The Carolina Tobs got a stellar performance from pitcher Riley Boland, who handcuffed the California offense en route to a win, 3-1, at Tobs Stadium. The Tobs raised their record to 4-1.

The Tobs got a big at-bat from first baseman Ira Benda. For the game, Benda was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Carolina a 2-0 lead.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Benda told the Carolina Times.
