The Philadelphia Freedom had to overcome a good performance from Windy City pitcher A.J. Stillman to claim a 3-1 win at Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower Field. Stillman went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The victory puts Philadelphia at 18-27.
Philadelphia won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Jamal Johnson on the mound for Windy City, shortstop Wellington Wingate hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Freedom fans to their feet.
"Put a star next to this win," Wingate said.
