Freedom Beat Carolina, 3-2
The Philadelphia Freedom topped the Carolina Tobs, 3-2, at Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower Field. Philadelphia second baseman Alexander Charter was a spark plug for the offense. He hit 2 home runs. Reliever Rich Thomas picked up the win. His record improves to 2-2. Da-Juan James took the loss. With the victory, the Freedom upped their record to 23-20.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Charter hit a changeup from Da-Juan James for a solo home run. The Freedom, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Charter told the Philadelphia Daily News.
