Freedom Lose By a Run at Carolina
In a tight contest at Tobs Stadium, the Carolina Tobs edged the Philadelphia Freedom by the score of 4-3. Carolina second baseman Rob Ahlbrecht, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. The save went to Logan Bunnell, his 5th this season. The 4th-place Tobs are now 19-21, the Freedom 17-24.

Had Chase Wright not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Wright hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Tobs.

"Bottom line," said Philadelphia skipper Roberto Suniga, "we didn't play well enough to win."
