Pilots Drop 5-2 Decision to Kodiaks
|
California and Seattle duked it out and the Kodiaks came out victorious.
California parlayed a decent outing from starter Auston Stretton into a solid win over the Seattle Pilots. The final score was 5-2. Stretton got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 9 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Dave Ferguson? The California left fielder had a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Kodiaks on top, 4-1. For the game, Ferguson had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Auston set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said California manager Kevin Alston.
California raised its record to 23-17 with the win.
