Millers Down Bulldogs, 8-5
|
Pittsburgh right fielder Byron Carlton was a significant contributor in his team's 8-5 triumph over the Baltimore Bulldogs. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Millers. The Millers now own a record of 22-16.
Jay Sharpe had a big grand slam home run for the Millers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Pittsburgh trailing 2-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a sinker from Nigel Johnson, who is tied for 2nd in the IL in strikeouts with 58, and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Millers on top, 4-2.
"I like our moxie," said Millers manager Finch Hasek.
