Tobs Lose to Voodoo in Walk Off
The New Orleans Voodoo got a stellar performance from pitcher Cedric Erickson, who handcuffed the Carolina offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Henry Byrd Field. The winner in relief was Dave Childers. He is now 2-0. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The 4th-place Voodoo improved to 19-18.

Johnathan Weeks was the walk-off hero for New Orleans. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Voodoo center fielder hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.

"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Weeks told the New Orleans Daily News. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
