The Maine Guides knocked off the Denver Bulls, 10-2, at Old Port Park. Cole Gregston was a big reason Maine won. The right fielder went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The Maine win streak is now 3 games.
Garon Norgrove had a big 2-run double for the Guides in the bottom of the third inning. With Maine leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from two-time Defense With Integrity (DWI) Award winner Mardy Owens and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Guides ahead, 5-2.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Denver manager Joey Lindauer. "We got trounced."
