Clowns Improve to 21-17 with 2-1 Win
The Indianapolis Clowns earned a close win over the Philadelphia Freedom, thanks in part to LaVar Abrudan. The Indianapolis right-hander, who led the DL in wins with 17 in 2057, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. The winner was Abrudan. He threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Liam Polyak. Denver Benson recorded the save for Indianapolis, his 4th of the season.

Nick Edwards broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fourth with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Clowns in front, 2-1. For the game, Edwards drove in one run.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Indianapolis manager Tommy Manheim said.

Indianapolis is now 21-17. Philadelphia is 13-25.
