Guides in Free-Fall, Lose, 6-3
|
Pilots third baseman Douglas Morrison put his stamp on his team's 6-3 win over the Maine Guides. Morrison was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 times for Seattle in the contest. Seattle reliever Daniel Travis was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Devon DeGasperis took the loss for Maine. Remi Daniel earned the save for Seattle, his 1st of the year.
The game turned with one out in the bottom of the sixth when Morrison, who finished 4th in the IL in batting average with .317 in 2053, hit a run-scoring single. It propelled the Pilots into the lead, 3-2.
"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Marty Kennedy, "but nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
The losing streak for Maine has now reached 7 games.
