Freedom Prevail, 6-4, Over Pawtucket
|
The Philadelphia Freedom topped the Pawtucket Patriots, 6-4, in Import League action at Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower Field. The standout performance belonged to Philadelphia pitcher and East Greenbush, New York, native Maurice Frost. Guy Hunnicutt was credited with the save for Philadelphia, his 7th of the season. With the win, the Freedom improved to 14-20.
In the top of the ninth, Paxton Barnett stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Patriots were trailing 6-4, but had runners on 2nd and 3rd. That's when Guy Hunnicutt made a terrific pitch and Barnett struck out. Gone was the dream of a Pawtucket comeback.
