Muckdogs Sneak By Roadrunners, 2-1

Phoenix wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Andy Phillips Jr., falling to the Batavia Muckdogs, 2-1. Phillips Jr. threw 8.2 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Batavia reliever Terrance Anderson picked up the win to move to 2-0. Andy Phillips Jr. suffered the loss. With the win, Batavia raised its record to 22-12.
Fredrick Palumbo was the walk-off hero for Batavia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Muckdogs second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Palumbo told reporters after the game.
