Voodoo Nip Whalers, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring affair between the New Orleans Voodoo and the Hartford Whalers, pitcher Oscar Kiss was the difference between victory and defeat. The New Orleans right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Voodoo win. The Whalers fall to 12-19 and continue their lackluster start to the 2069 season.
The Voodoo got a big at-bat from left fielder Jamari Torosian. For the game, Torosian was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave New Orleans a 2-0 lead.
"I had one goal in mind," said Kiss. "Keep pounding the zone."
