Phoenix Drops Washington, 6-2
|
Phoenix Roadrunners starter Braydon Cox hurled his team past the Washington Bats, 6-2. Cox, the winner, moves to 2-2. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up no walks. Gerold Lentz nailed down his 7th save.
Rayshaun Stuart had a critical at-bat with two out in the top of the sixth for Phoenix. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Phoenix in front, 4-1.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Cox. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
So far, the 2060 season has been disappointing for Washington, now 11-20.
