Exports Popped by Voodoo, 7-3
|
New Orleans Voodoo starter Cedric Erickson pitched well against the Montreal Exports at The Brewery, leading his team to a win, 7-3. Erickson, now 3-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. The loss puts Montreal at 17-13.
New Orleans used a clutch at-bat from Johnathan Weeks to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Voodoo ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Cedric is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said New Orleans manager Dave Taylor.
