Wilmington left fielder Corey Hughes helped his team beat the Santo Domingo Rum Runners, 5-3. Hughes, who is tied for 2nd in the DL in home runs with 8, went 2 for 4 for the Sorcery. Sherwin Kendrick got the win, improving to 1-3. He held the Rum Runners to 3 runs on 5 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 1. The win puts Wilmington at 11-11.

Early in the game, Hughes had a 2-run home run for Wilmington. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Sorcery on top, 4-2.
