Canadians Take Nail-Biter Over Voodoo
|
The Toronto Canadians did just enough to secure a victory over the New Orleans Voodoo, 4-3, in 13 innings at Dylan Owens Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Conner Cook. Toronto reliever Bailey Sharples picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Austin Virnig took the loss. The Canadians, with just their 7th win so far in 2065, have yet to catch fire.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the 13th for Toronto. That's when Brian Wheat hit a solo home run off 32-year old left-handed pitcher Austin Virnig to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Tom Dingman, the Toronto skipper.
