Millers Eke Out 4-3 Win Versus Maine
|
Despite a fine performance by left fielder Nathan Bennett, the Maine Guides lost to the Pittsburgh Millers, 4-3. Bennett was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Shavar Hannan earned the save for Pittsburgh, his 4th of the year. Maine falls to 9-12.
Pittsburgh used the bat of Byron Carlton to capture the win. The right fielder jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Millers ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Maine manager Marty Kennedy. "The effort was great."
