Wilmington Earn 7-3 Victory at Snapper Park
|
The Wilmington Sorcery picked up a win at Snapper Park, downing the Syracuse Snappers, 7-3. On the mound for Wilmington was right-hander Cristian Wilfert, who played a pivotal role in the win. Wilfert, now 1-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The Snappers fall to 8-12 and continue their uneven start to the 2069 season.
Toby Foster had a big 3-run home run for the Sorcery in the top of the third inning. With Wilmington leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Seth Faber and swatted a home run to left. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sorcery ahead, 6-0.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Foster said.
