The Wilmington Wildcats topped the Syracuse Snappers by a score of 5-3. Leading the way was center fielder Marquis Alagna. Alagna went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Wildcats. Bryce Garton picked up the win in relief for Wilmington, while Conner Calloway took the loss. The loss drops the Snappers to 9-11.
Alagna contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Wilmington in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-2, Alagna took a slider from Demetrius Krouse and stroked the home run to right. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Wildcats to leap in front, 5-3.
"I expect to carry this team on my shoulders at times," said Alagna.
