Levi Lane was instrumental in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Dallas Drillers. The first baseman went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Hartford Whalers. The win belongs to Duncan Mulifi in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Leroy Kettler took the loss for Dallas. The Drillers are now 7-12.

Lane had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-2 curveball from Leroy Kettler, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Whalers a 5-1 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Lane.
