Kodiaks Pick Up 4-1 Road Win Over Baltimore
|
The California Kodiaks scooped up a win at Hurricane Rice Arena, dumping the Baltimore Bulldogs, 4-1. Cole Grizzle was essential to his team's success. Grizzle, now 4-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Darin Carter earned save number 2 this season.
Johnny Campbell, who is tied for 7th in the IL in triples with 1, had a direct impact on the outcome. Campbell contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put California up, 3-1.
"We try to keep the mood light around here," said Grizzle. "Winning helps."
Baltimore, with the loss, is still a hardy 14-5.
