Wilmington Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
|
In a tight contest between the Syracuse Snappers and the Wilmington Sorcery, Zack Watts was the determining factor. The Syracuse right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-0 win. Levi Backman earned the save, his 5th, for the Snappers. The Sorcery drop to 7-10, as their stumbling start to the 2069 season continues.
The Snappers got a big at-bat from left fielder Steven Hefelfinger. For the game, Hefelfinger was 1-2 with a double. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 5th double of the season gave Syracuse a 1-0 lead.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Watts told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
