Carolina Gets 4-1 Win
|
Jistic Field was the site for Import League action featuring the Windy City Blues and Carolina Tobs.
The Carolina Tobs faced a tough opponent in Windy City pitcher Richard Kramer, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Jistic Field by a final score of 4-1. Kramer went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Antonio Sutton was the winning pitcher. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed 1 run on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Dalton Blair.
Carolina used the timely hitting of Shaunte Panteleo to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Tobs on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Carolina skipper Xavier Mitchell.
The Blues, now 4-13, continue their poor start.
