Both teams had their chances, but the Wilmington Wildcats eventually prevailed.

The Dallas Drillers got a superb performance from pitcher Zane Thorpe. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Wilmington. The Wildcats won the game, 4-3. Thorpe threw 5.2 innings allowing 2 runs. Abel Harreld snagged the win in relief. In 2 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits. He's now 3-0 on the season.

Had Shayne Hall not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Hall hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Wildcats.

"I was a little disappointed," said Dallas manager Dave Sima. "We could've and should've scored more runs."

The loss drops the Dallas record to a disappointing 6-10.
