Millers Lose, 8-6, at Samuel Stone Memorial Field
|
Hartford picked up a win at Samuel Stone Memorial Field, bumping off the Pittsburgh Millers, 8-6. Pitcher Tom Pickett was a major reason the Whalers emerged victorious. Dion Bostock earned the save, his 3rd, for the Whalers. Pittsburgh, with the loss, is still a stout 9-4.
In the bottom of the second inning of a 0-0 tie, Hartford catcher Avery McKinney reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put Hartford on top, 1-0.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Jaylon Simon.
