7 Straight Wins for Bats
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Washington Bats and Pittsburgh Millers.

The Washington Bats beat the Pittsburgh Millers, 3-2, in part because of first baseman Parker Lee. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. Washington reliever Jeremy Greene was the winner. His record is now 5-4. Garry Fanalua took the loss.

Lee had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-2 fastball from Garry Fanalua, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Bats a 3-2 lead. It was the 41st home run of the year for Lee.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Washington skipper Pat Fiume. "I can't complain."

Washington has won 7 consecutive games.
