4-3 Loss Extends New Orleans Skid
|
The Syracuse Snappers defeated the New Orleans Voodoo, 4-3, in Domestic League action at Snapper Park. Syracuse pitcher Judean Dang had a standout performance. Trevon Pearson picked up the save for Syracuse, his 19th of the year. The slumping Voodoo have lost 8 straight.
The Voodoo had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Snappers going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 33-year old catcher Lukas Byrd came to the plate. Byrd hit a run-scoring double on a 1-1 changeup from New Orleans hurler Joel Thompson. It was Byrd's 19th double of the year.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said New Orleans manager Dusty Guercio. "But we decided not to take it."
