6 Straight Wins for Kodiaks
|
Stan Sikes made an impact in the 4-3 California win over Philadelphia. Sikes, who finished 5th in the IL in hits with 174 in 2057, was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Peyton Gerber got credit for the save for California. It was his 27th of the year. The second-place Kodiaks have won 6 in a row.
In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, Sikes came to the plate. He grounded out, driving in 1 run off Tucker Key to put the Kodiaks in the lead, 4-3.
After the game, California manager Louie Sumski applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
