Baltimore Topples Denver, 5-2
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Denver Bulls and Baltimore Bulldogs get after it.
Baltimore Bulldogs starter Tommy Humes was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Denver Bulls, 5-2. The winning pitcher was Humes, now 12-9. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. Blake Moss earned the save, his 32nd.
Seth Riddle had a big solo home run for the Bulldogs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Baltimore leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Saxby Lucas, who finished 5th in the IL in ERA with 3.24 in 2062, and punished it. The result was his 20th home run of the season, which put the Bulldogs on top, 2-0.
"Tommy did a nice job," said Bulldogs manager Mike Dominquez.
The Baltimore win streak is now 3 games.
