Millers Net 1-0 Win Over Rum Runners
|
The Pittsburgh Millers eked out a 1-0 win versus the Santo Domingo Rum Runners at Brugal Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Bert Franklin. He was terrific. The winning pitcher was Franklin, now 10-11. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. The first-place Millers improved to 74-58.
Seth Laskie, the 33-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Laskie contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the second inning to put Pittsburgh up, 1-0.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Santo Domingo manager Jamal M.
