Getting a good performance from designated hitter Sylvester Todd, the Pittsburgh Millers defeated the Indianapolis Clowns, 7-3. Todd was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times for the Millers. The first-place Millers now have a record of 73-56.

It could have been a different outcome for Pittsburgh, had it not been for Kristian Goldman, the 23-year old catcher . Goldman contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the fourth inning to put Pittsburgh up, 4-1.

"We came in and did what we needed to do," said Pittsburgh manager Finch Hasek.
