Wildcats Improve to 74-54 with 4-2 Win
|
Starting pitcher Rick Robertson took care of business, helping the Wilmington Wildcats stifle the Dallas Drillers, 4-2. Robertson went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 10-7. Ron Thomas finished to wrap up his 26th save.
Dorsey Cahue, who finished 2nd in the DL in triples with 14 in 2057, aided the Wilmington cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the second. For the game, the third baseman was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles.
"The team always comes first, so pulling out the win on a day like today is the most important thing," Cahue told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
Wilmington raised its record to 74-54 with the win.
