Patriots Take Tight Tilt
|
The Pawtucket Patriots got a strong performance from pitcher Zane Thorpe, who stymied the Indianapolis offense en route to a win, 2-1, at Pawtucket Park. Thorpe, the winner, moves to 6-10. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. With the win, Pawtucket has a record of 53-71. Indianapolis falls to 55-67.
The Patriots got a big at-bat from third baseman Tymell Wade. For the game, Wade was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Pawtucket a 2-0 lead.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Thorpe told the Pawtucket Citizen.
