After the game the Syracuse Snappers outstanding reliever Levi Backman celebrated his 300th-career save by reminiscing about his first save. "I remember it clearly. I was a rookie and the last one standing in the bullpen in an extra-inning game. Our staff was worn to a frazzle and was desperate for a pitcher. So they put me in. I faced four batters, rung up the victory and took the first step toward 300 saves."

The 35-year-old Backman got number 300 by preserving the Snappers 5-4 win over the Pittsburgh Millers.

Backman has registered up a career 46-and-45 record with 300 saves and a 2.86 ERA.
