Bats Fail for Cyclones in 4-0 Loss
|
California picked up a win at In-N-Out Field, toppling the New York Cyclones, 4-0. Pitcher Joel Sawyer was one of the reasons the Kodiaks triumphed. With the win, the Kodiaks have a record of 68-49.
Sawyer, a native of Moss Point, Mississippi, was dealing all game. He kept New York hitters off-balance, while giving the Kodiaks 8 quality innings. Sawyer threw 95 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 7.
"Joel did a tremendous job," said California manager Louie Sumski.
