The Washington Bats bested the New York Cyclones by a score of 6-5, with third baseman Neall Rabah getting the main credit. On the day, Rabah was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a double. With the victory, the Bats upped their record to 63-53.

With runs few and far between, the Bats had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Washington came in the top of the first inning, when center fielder Evan Wilson delivered a 2-run double. The double was hit off Cedric Erickson and made the score 3-0, Bats. Wilson was 1-2 with a double and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Washington manager Pat Fiume.
