Dooley Hits Two Dingers, Bats Win, 6-4
|
Owen Dooley left his imprint on the 6-4 Washington win against the New York Cyclones. Dooley, who is tied for 9th in the IL in doubles with 31, was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Justin Casey picked up the win with 8 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 10-3. Darius Huschke was credited with the save for Washington, his 30th of the season.
Dooley had a big hit for Washington with one out in the top of the seventh. With Washington leading 1-0, Dooley hit a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Bats up, 4-0.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Dooley.
The win elevated the Bats to 62-53.
